Secret Deals

John's Dad, George, accomplished his life long dream of publishing his book, Secret Deals.  It is based on his experience in the shipping industry.  We celebrated his awesome accomplishment with our close friends and family.  It was a great afternoon and we are so proud of Pop-pop Wanno!

A Chilly Zoo Trip

When John was off work at the beginning of the year, we took a trip to the zoo.  Since Mommy usually takes the kids to the zoo, they were both so excited that Daddy was able to come with us.  It was a cold and breezy 38 degrees that day.  A lot of the animals were enjoying the chilly weather.  We had another fun family day.

Preparing for Baby #3

Grandma and Grandpa Wanno took George and Clara for 24 hours so that John and I could focus on getting ready for the arrival of our little guy.  I spent the majority of the weekend hanging out in our laundry room.  I washed and put away all of George's old clothes, blankets, and baby gear.  Looking at all of those tiny clothes, it is hard to believe George was ever that small.  Three years goes by fast!  I also made some artwork for our little guy's room.  John spent his time painting and putting furniture together.  It was really fun getting everything ready and it made it all the more real.  His room is very simple and we are pleased with how it turned out so far.  We have a few more things to do but the big stuff is finished.  We've got two more months to get the rest in order.  He will be here before we know it!

32 Weeks

I had a few pretty strong contractions last week.  When I went into my appointment my doctor decided to put me on a low dose of medication to stop any contractions I may have.  I know she did this because of the early delivery of the twins and I appreciate her aggressive treatment.  I would like to avoid having another preemie.  So far the meds are working and everything looks good.

We had another ultrasound to see our little guy.  His heart rate was 144 beats per minute and this time around he seemed to be resting.  The measurements suggest that he is about 4 pounds 6 ounces right now. I was happy to hear how big he is.  Clara was only 8 ounces bigger at birth.  If he continues the same rate of growth, then he will definitely be an 8 pound baby by 40 weeks!

30 weeks

I hit the 30 week mark this week.  10 more to go and we get to meet our little guy.  We had our 3D ultrasound and were able to get a glimpse of the newest addition to our family.  We saw him yawning, sticking his tongue out, scratching his face, and moving all around.

His hand in front of his face.

Sweet profile.

At my recent doctors appointment everything looked great.  I am up 15 pounds so far and our little boy's heartbeat was strong again.  My belly is measuring right on target and the doctor expects a 7 or 8 pound baby.  I now see the doctor every two weeks to make sure he is still growing well.

George and Clara are getting very excited to meet their little brother.  George felt his little kicks on my belly.  His face lit up when he felt the tap on his hand.  Clara asks me almost everyday, "How is baby brother Mommy?"  She hugs and kisses my belly too.  There are times when one or both of the twins will climb onto my lap and elbow my belly.  Our little guys usually responds with a kick or punch.  Whenever I wince or push on my belly, one or both of the twins will ask, "Oh Mommy you ok?  Brother kicking in there? Silly brother!"  I am so excited to meet our little guy but I am equally excited to watch these amazing kiddos become a big brother and sister.

We plan to work on the nursery this weekend.  I look forward to getting everything ready.  Pregnancy nesting is in full swing!!!

Real Big Kid Beds

About a year ago, when George and Clara turned two, we changed their cribs into toddler beds.  Shortly after this New Year, we changed their toddler beds into their really big kid beds.  They were both very excited to pick out their mattresses and had no trouble at all transitioning into full sized beds.  George is in love with his superhero sheets and Clara adores her princess and ballerina bedding.  Another milestone has come and gone!

Our Last Night in Toddler Beds!

Happy in our real big kid beds!

New Years 2013

John and I met at a party on New Years Eve fifteen years ago.  We were seniors in high school.  It is hard to believe that we have known each other that long.  I am so glad we had those mutual friends and our paths crossed that night.  It has lead to fifteen years of love and laughter that I am beyond thankful for.

This New Years Eve we had lunch with John's parents to celebrate Pop-pop Wanno's birthday. That night John and I fed the kiddos early and put them to bed.  We enjoyed our traditional fondue dinner while we talked about all that happened in 2012 and what is in store for us in 2013.  We are looking forward to adding another member to our family and watching George and Clara grow.  I tried really hard to be asleep at midnight but the neighborhood kids had other plans for me.  Lots and lots of fireworks helped me ring in the new year with John.

On New Years Day we went to my parents' house for dinner and Uncle Jay was able to join us since the restaurant was closed.  We had a fun night of football, heavy appetizers for dinner, and lots of laughter from our two monkeys.  They sure were loving on each other that night!

I adored hearing them tell everyone Happy New Year!  They are getting so big.  Wishing you and your family a very happy 2013 filled with many many blessings!!!

She actually squealed when she saw this dollhouse.

Forget the other presents.  It's time to play!
A science set for little man.

They were so excited about the science kit.

We had to start experimenting right away!

We headed over to Grammy and Pop-pop Quinn's house to have brunch and open gifts.  Uncle Jay was there to celebrate with us too.  So nice to be all together on Christmas morning!

 Uncle Sayed's turn!

This Christmas was by far our favorite since George and Clara graced our lives with their presence.  They were so excited about Santa and presents.  They enjoyed church and time with family at fancy dinners.  They loved playing with their cousin and opening presents with their grandparents.  We really enjoyed every moment of the holiday with our two sweet monkeys.  We look forward to next year when we have three monkeys to cuddle on Christmas morning!
