My 34th Birthday

My loving husband and my amazing Dad planned a birthday celebration I won't forget.  Since having kiddos it's not too often that I have a party to celebrate my birthday so that made it extra special.  They coordinated and organized a dinner in a private party room at our club.  I had a wonderful night surrounded by my lovely family.  Thank you John and Dad for making this birthday so memorable!

Well not really but these two thought it was!  This pretty much sums up their personalities.  Girly girl and goofball!

Halloween Fun

We had lots of Halloween fun this year.  We started our celebrations with a costume parade at school.  George and Clara were Power Rangers this year.  Never thought Miss Clara would dress as a superhero.  She surprises me daily.

Clara did a pumpkin dance at ballet that week.  Pretty cute!

 

We made Halloween cookies.

 

We carved pumpkins....topless.  Yep that's how we roll around here.  :)

And of course we went Trick or Treating with two very excited three year olds.

 

My Crime Fighting Family!

 

The twins are already planning our costumes for Halloween next year.  Right now they want to be a family of Mummies.  Ha!  We will have to wait until October 2014 to see what they pick. 

Goodbye Sweet Bailey

We said goodbye to our sweet sweet Bailey a few weeks ago.  This was sudden and very unexpected.  Bailey was our first child.  She taught John and I to think beyond ourselves.  Bailey was the beginning of my lessons in patience.  I adored cuddling with her even though she was 80 pounds and left bruises on my legs from sitting on my lap.  During my pregnancies she was never far from me.  I have the best memories of her when I was on bed rest when I was pregnant with the twins.  Somehow she would always snuggle up close enough to put her head on my gigantic belly.  John adored Bailey.  She was John's companion.  She spent most of her days following him around tail wagging behind her.  And she was amazing with our children.  They loved to play with her and she tolerated so much from them. She was a gift and I will cherish all of my memories of our sweet sweet Bailey.  We love you and miss you terribly big dog. 

Trip to Dallas

We recently packed up the kiddos and drove to Dallas to visit friends and attend SMU's Homecoming festivities.  Everyone was on their very best behavior all weekend long  We stayed with Josh and his wife Amanda and their two sweet boys Tucker and Brady.  We had a fantastic time and look forward to our next trip to Dallas!

We tailgated on The Boulevard and watched the Homecoming parade with Amanda, Tucker, and Brady. 

We watched the game and SMU won!

On Sunday we enjoyed brunch with my sorority sisters and their families.  It was so fun to see lots everyone and how their families have grown.  Love these girls.

Can't wait to go back and visit all of our friends again.  We always have a wonderful time.  Love to you all!

Fun in the Fall

We are really into superheroes lately.  I often find George and Clara saving the world from evil.

The weather is beautiful so we spend lots of time outside to soak it up as much as we possibly can.

 

We've also done some adventuring with Pop-pop Beard.  These are moments that I am beyond thankful that we live so close to each other.

 

We enjoyed a lobster dinner with Uncle Jay and my parents.  George and Clara were fascinated by the lobsters before they were put in the pot.  Clara was not a fan but George ate it up!
