Sibling Class

The hospital where I will deliver offers a sibling class so that the big brothers and sisters can come learn how to help Mommy and Daddy take care of the new baby.  George and Clara seemed to enjoy learning about babies.  They learned how to hold a baby, swaddle a baby, and help change a diaper.  We also toured the hospital so they could see where Mommy and Daddy will be when baby brother is born.  The kiddos were able to dress like doctors with a scrub cap and mask on their tour.  I think their favorite part was peeking in the nursery to see all the newborn babies.  It was a great evening!

36 Weeks!

At 36 weeks, I've gained 24 pounds.  Our little guy's heart rate was 135 beats per minute.  He is estimated at 6.5 lbs which is in the 67th percentile.  The ultrasound tech said she could even see that he has a little bit of hair!  I am still motoring along.  I am basically tired all the time but I only feel uncomfortable by the end of the day.  Sleeping can be a bit of a challenge but I know this is just a warm up for what is to come!  The doctor told me to start taking walks to see if we can get this little monkey to descend.  We are ready to meet our little guy.  We are in the home stretch.  Only a few more weeks to go!

Nursery Complete!

We finished the nursery this weekend.  We hung the curtains, added a wall decal, and set up all of the baby toys.  I can't wait to meet our little guy.  We are in the home stretch!

 

Happy Valentine's Day!

We spent Valentine's Day celebrating all the people we love.  We delivered homemade heart cookies to our four favorite grandparents.  We delivered cards with candy to our friends.  And best of all we celebrated Valentine's Day with a family dinner for four.  Happy Valentine's Day to my three loves!  I am one blessed Mommy and Wife.

Coloring and Writing

One of Clara's strengths is her fine motor skills.  She has a great pencil grip and is content coloring or "writing" for long periods of time.  Back in December I taught her how to color in the lines.  This was her first attempt by herself.  Pretty good!

Recently I bought Clara a book to practice writing letters, which we haven't done before.  On her first attempt she was writing a pretty good letter H.  She never ceases to amaze me.  Proud of our little Clarabear and her determination!

Daddy's Helpers

On the weekends George and Clara love helping Daddy with any project he has on his "Honey Do" list.  Love their enthusiasm about helping out!

KAMOM Valentine's Day Party

We enjoyed our annual Valentine's Day party with our KAMOM friends.  George and Clara had a lot of fun actually picking out their cards and signing each one this year.  They loved receiving card from their friends too!  They take them out to look at them every day.  I know they are looking forward to their school party this week too.  Valentine's Love!!!
