Fulfilling Dreams

My morning walk is when I do most of my thinking, planning, and even praying.  We have great walking trails behind our house and in the morning it so peaceful.  With John turning 30 recently, I find myself thinking about us on my walks.  I've been kind of nostalgic about where we've been and dream about where we are headed.  As I stop and think about where we are right now, in this very moment, I realized that I've fulfilled so many of my childhood dreams already.  The other day it just hit me like a ton of bricks.  Here I am walking in this fantastic neighborhood, where John and I built our first house together.  I am pushing a stroller with two healthy beautiful children and watching my silly black lab run through the fields.  I have a husband who loves me and works hard so that I have the option of staying home and watching my babies grow.  We have loving family surrounding us who are unbelievably supportive and many good friends who we are so thankful to share life with.  Sometimes I wonder how I am so lucky that I get to walk this path in life.  One that so many people dream about.  One that I used to dream about as a little girl and now I am living it.  For that I am beyond thankful.  I can wholeheartedly say that my cup runneth over.

My Favorite Month...So Far

Besides meeting these two monkeys last November, the ninth month has been my favorite by far. This is what the twins have been up to this month...

Eating lots of new foods and drinking from sippy cups

John Turns 30!

We had lots of birthday celebrations to commemorate John's big 3-0!  John's parents stayed with the twins overnight so that he and I could spend a night downtown.  We stayed at Hotel Icon which is where we stayed the night we got married.  It is such a beautiful hotel!  We dined at Mark's American which is now John's favorite restaurant.  Delicious food, great wine, beautiful ambiance, and of course the best company made it a memorable night for the two of us.  On Sunday some of our oldest and closest friends met us at Farrago's for brunch to celebrate John's birthday.  It was great to see everyone!  We arrived back at home to celebrate with family.  We spent time with the twins and had a lovely dinner with John's parents and my parents.  I hope this birthday is one John never forgets.  I love you sweetheart!  I've loved celebrating the last twelve birthdays together.  You are one of a kind and I am so lucky to walk through life with you. 

 Thanks Aunt Sandra and Uncle Graham for the birthday surprise at the hotel!  It was wonderful!
