I think I have a problem

So we've known for a little over 24 hours that we are having a boy and a girl and I've already bought 6 outfits. Someone keep me away from the baby stores! The clothes are impossible to resist!!

First matching PJs - It says Best Friends under the animals

First pairs of jeans :)

Best of Both Worlds

Our 20 week ultrasound was yesterday and we were so excited to find out we are having a boy and a girl! It was amazing to see the babies moving around and cuddling with each other. Their heartbeats were strong again and they both weigh about .75 pounds. I still can't believe how blessed we are! When you look at the ultrasound pictures Baby A is the boy and Baby B is the girl.

Both heads right now around 2 1/2 inches

Our little boy's face

Our little girl's face

Our little boy's fist - he was opening and closing his hand

After our ultrasound we went out to lunch with our parents, John's sister, and her husband. It was very fun to celebrate with family after finding out the big news!

After lunch I had to buy one outfit for each of them. Shopping for baby clothes is SO fun!

Halfway!!!!

I am 20 weeks pregnant and have the belly to show for it! I can't believe how quickly the past 20 weeks have gone by. We've been blessed with a pretty typical pregnancy so far and hope this blessing continues through the end! The past three weeks I have spent my time cleaning out and re-organizing the house to make room for the twins. The front two bedrooms and closets are finally empty and ready for all the baby gear. My two very best friends, Brandi and Ashley, are in the middle of planning my first shower which will be in September. I can't wait!! I have a little over a week until I return to work. Right now work will be a welcome distraction from all of this baby planning. We are heading to Atlanta this weekend to visit with my brother and attend a family reunion. We are really looking forward to this last trip. I probably won't see a plane for a very long time. :) Our big ultrasound is this Wednesday so stay tuned to find out what we are having!

My husband, the adorable engineer

Yesterday I went to lunch with my good friend Lindsey and her 5 month old daughter Caroline. While we were talking baby, she mentioned that her husband used to read to her belly while she was pregnant. Supposedly this will help the babies recognize daddy's voice when they are born. Last night I went home and told John that he should read to the babies. When he asked why I told him that they hear my voice all day long. His response, "That must be annoying." After the laughter stopped, I continued that he should read to them so they recognize his voice too. So when we went to bed last night John pulled out Scientific American Magazine and started reading our twins the articles. I could not help but giggle as I listened to him read about Dark Matter. With four more months of reading to go, I think the twins will be born thinking about the laws of physics, scientific theories, and galactic systems. Maybe they will inherit his affinity for science and maybe I will learn something along the way. How I love my husband the engineer!

Doctor's appointment

I had my monthly doctor's appointment today. I am 18 1/2 weeks pregnant and I really am beginning to enjoy the experience. I finally have most of my energy back! I am feeling the babies move and kick a lot now. I think the baby on my left is going to be ACTIVE!!! I've gained a total of 6 pounds and both heartbeats were strong. The active baby kept moving around and kicking so it took awhile to find his/her heartbeat. The nurse told me I needed to watch out for that one. Haha! Things are going really well and I feel totally blessed by it all. Two weeks until our big ultrasound! I can't wait to post what we are having. Until then...

Successful Shopping!!!

We went to Baby's First Furniture today and ordered our nursery furniture. We went with set #2, which we liked more from the beginning. We also ordered our glider and ottoman. It is so comfy and big which is a good thing with two babies. I think I will be spending a lot of time in that glider! I also found bedding that I like. Now we just wait to see what we are having...only 24 days to go!

Wow! Wow! Wow!

Since I was about 14 weeks pregnant I've felt little flutters or taps, but was never quite sure if it was one of the babies I was feeling. Last night I was unpacking from the trip and I felt this jab on my right side. I stood up and felt my belly. No joke there was a foot/head/butt/hand/elbow (who knows what it was) sticking out from my belly. I froze in awe. I then felt this little baby move under my skin. When I put a little pressure on the baby he/she slowly moved back to where I couldn't feel him or her. It was amazing! I ran to tell John who was disappointed he wasn't right there to feel it too. Now I am just waiting...waiting for either of these little ones to move again. What an awesome feeling!!!!!
