It seems like George and Clara are changing every day! Fun things first. George is interested in standing on our laps now. He thinks that the world is hilarious and laughs all the time. George reaches for Clara whenever they are in close proximity. The first time he did, I just melted. His head strength is getting better so we notice the Torticollis improving. He loves to kick things and has figured out if he kicks the activity mat it changes the music. Both babies love listening to books, which amazes me at this young of an age. The other day I was reading a book about colors that has pictures of babies doing different things. When I got to the page that talks about the color grey George laughed at the picture of the smiling baby. I thought it was a coincidence but every time I read it to them he laughs at the same baby. It's awesome! They also watched their first Baby Einstein video and seemed to enjoy it. Miss Clara still loves sitting up and standing. In the mornings she babbles to wake us up instead of crying. She can do this for up to 20 minutes without getting annoyed. It is so funny to listen to her and much nicer to wake up to! Whenever I go to get her out of her crib, just as I peek in she looks over at me with the biggest smile on her face. She gets excited and kicks her feet. It is a great way to start my days!
Since starting solid foods, George and Clara's schedule has totally changed. This is a difficult thing for Mommy who likes her days to be predictable. Miss Clara is no longer sleeping through the night. In fact she has added two feedings during the night which makes for exhausted parents. We thought we were beyond this stage but I guess we were wrong. I hope this is just a short phase and we can get back to a full nights sleep soon. We get out more and more these days. We went shopping with Grammy Quinn during her spring break. The babies were so good and boy did she spoil them! We have so many cute summer outfits thanks to Grammy. We also had a really nice lunch at one of my favorite Italian places. It was just a wonderful day spent with my mom! I can't wait until the summer and we have more opportunities to get out with her.
We were able to go out to dinner for my Mom's birthday. It was so nice to have a great dinner with my family without having to worry about the babies. They were in the good hands of our very good friends Mark and Sarah. They are expecting a little girl in June so we now owe them 2 nights of babysitting when they are ready to venture out of the house after Addison arrives. In other exciting news, my cousin Tarala had a healthy baby girl named Sydney last week. George and Clara have a cousin! We can't wait until we can meet little Miss Sydney. She is adorable!
