Meghan, We haven't met, but we have a mutual friend, Amanda Harkness. She sent me your blog address because we have twins, identical girls, about the same age. They were born October 8th of last year. I found it interesting that you have succumbed to the mess of letting them play with their food at about the same time I did...today.
I was trying them on a new texture: mashed up rice and beans w/ avacado. They didn't do too badly, but when they didn't seem as interested in it because it wasn't sweet enough, or, who knows what, I decided to just put it on their tray and let them go at it themselves. I suppose it is a good way to get them used to the different textures.
I love the prunes and carrots idea though. We will have to try something like this next time.
