I think I uttered that phrase a thousand times over the last few weeks. Either that or don't pee on your princess! This is code for Mommy finally put on her big girl pants and potty trained the twins. It took about three weeks but we are 98% there. They have very very few accidents now. They have the most difficulty when we are not at home. At home they are pretty independent which is wonderful. Out of the house the reminders are constant and they are a little unsure of strange potties...who isn't? It wasn't as difficult as my mind had made it out to be. They love their big kid undies and will proudly tell anyone who will listen that they used the potty!
How'd you do it you ask? Some call it bribery but I call it positive reinforcement. We had a system where they could earn toys that they picked out at Target. Each time they went potty they put a pompom in a cup. When their cup was filled with pompoms then they got to pick one of the toys. It worked like a charm. Now we use M&Ms to reward going potty but are tapering off on the rewards slowly. You don't get treats for going potty for the rest of your life!
Another milestone has come and gone. I am one proud Momma of my two sweet monkeys! Good bye diapers and pull ups!!!!
