September 11, 2011

We had a busy day in the Hadjioannou house on the 11th of September.  Probably the thing most on our minds was the ten year anniversary of the attacks of the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and the plane that went down in Pennsylvania.  I personally felt like I had a heavy heart all day.  The sounds of the names of those who died being read aloud that morning on TV, the countless times we heard Taps or Amazing Grace, and the repeat of the footage from that day were all grim reminders of all that was lost.  A day that for many felt like hell on Earth.  Americans' lives changed forever that day.  We won't ever forget it or forget those that have fought for our freedom since.  May God bless America.

The anniversary of all of that sadness was also a day of celebration in the US.  It was Grandparent's Day!  George and Clara have four amazing grandparents in their lives so we had to celebrate them.  We made a photo album of pictures of the twins from each month they've been here on this Earth blessing our days.  We made a surprise visit to Grandma and Grandpa H's house in the morning.  We had dinner with Grammy and Pop-pop Q at our house that evening.  We are so lucky to have such amazing grandparents in our lives.  I saw a onesie the other day that made me laugh but was very true.  It read, "Mom's cranky? Dad's not home? Call 1-800-Grandma."  What would we do without grandparents?!?!

You might have noticed someone special in this picture.  Uncle Jay came to visit to have his latest scan.  It was so wonderful to have the whole family home together.  The twins loved having Uncle Jay around.

September 11th was also the first Texans game of the season.  We had to dress up to support our favorite football team.  Jake came over to watch the game with Daddy while George and Clara napped.  The Texans got the season off to a great start by beating the Colts!

Go Texans!!
