*George saying funny things. Like when he looked at John and said, "You aren't a boy. You are a Daddy."
*When Clara attacks me with a huge bear hug and says, "I wuv you Mommy."
*When we are driving in the car listening to music and Clara says, "Turn it loud Mommy!" when she likes a song. Which is usually followed by her saying, "Mommy sing the words!" I love that she has no idea that I CAN NOT sing at all.
*George was asking my Dad what the scab on his arm was. My Dad told him it was a healing boo-boo. George asked if he could take it off. My Dad said, "No but you know who will take it off? God." George repeated, "God?" Then he looked at me and asked, "God a doctor Mommy?" Yes sweet love. Among many many things, God is a doctor.
*Clara always wants to kiss George goodnight. Sometimes George refuses to kiss her, so she will kiss his arm or tummy or head. Whatever she can get to with her lips. On those nights where George refuses her a kiss, it only takes a few minutes for him to coming running into Clara's room to plant a big kiss on her lips. It is a nightly ritual that I swear lets them rest peacefully. They love each other so much.
*Whenever I set dinner on the table. Whatever is on her plate. Clara exclaims, "Oh thank you Mommy!" in the best most excited voice. I soak it in every single time.
*George's slow sly smile when he is about to do something he knows he shouldn't.
*How much these two monkeys wholeheartedly love their Daddy and ask for him all the time.
*How Clara tells me, "Mommy I do it!" or "Mommy don't help me" at gymnastics. She wants to try to do things on her own and has this amazing fiesty independent streak that I love.
*I love that George has a "faborite girl." Her name is Natalie. She is sweet, full of energy, spunky, chatty, and imaginative. We won't tell Clara though.
They are growing too fast. Days seem to slip through my fingers. I feel like the months fly by. I am trying to slow down and really look at these beautiful children to stamp into my memory what they are like right now at two years old. I hope I can capture these days so when they are big I can tell them how rich they make my world.
I love these two sweet monkeys.
