We started a new New Years tradition this year. John grew up eating a Greek pita on New Years Day. You bake it with a penny in the dough. You cut pieces for everyone in the family and for the house. Whoever gets the penny in their piece of pita will have good luck that year. John and I did most of the work to make the pita but we got the kiddos involved in the end. They enjoyed it. The house got the penny this year which means we will all have a great year! John and I spent New Years Eve at home. We fed the kids, put them to bed, and enjoyed a date night in. We enjoyed fondue, a Coldplay concert on TV, and champagne. We actually made it to midnight to welcome 2012.
Putting the penny in the pita. Eyes closed and all!
Ready to cut!
On New Years Day we hosted our families and our great friends the Carters for dinner. Everyone brought an appetizer or dessert. John fired up the smoker and we munched on some delicious pork shoulder and pork ribs. John always does a great job with bbq!
Playtime!
